In Barranquilla, the use of masks in open spaces will not be mandatory. This was officially announced by Mayor Jaime Pumarejo, highlighting that 90% of citizens have a complete vaccination scheme against covid-19.
According to the announcement by President Iván Duque, the measure may be taken in all the populations of Colombia that have a minimum margin of 70% vaccination in relation to the coronavirus.
The exact date on which the measure will come into effect must be announced in the remainder of this week by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

What to consider
1. The citizen who wants to continue using the mask in public spaces can do so.
2. Anyone who has symptoms of a respiratory disorder (cough, sore throat, shortness of breath) should isolate themselves and permanently wear a face mask.
3. Every citizen who is not vaccinated against covid-19 is still obliged to wear a face mask.
4. The use of face masks is still mandatory in closed spaces (public transport, commercial establishments, among others)
5. Taking into account aspects related to vaccination coverage, in populations of the metropolitan area: Soledad, Puerto Colombia, Malambo and Galapa, mandatory use in public spaces is maintained.
