This Friday, February 18, 2022, the Ministry of Health delivered a new report on the pandemic in the country, which accounts for 4,020 new cases and 136 deaths.

In addition, it registered that 33,978 tests were processed (16,295 for PCR and 17,683 for antigens).
These figures reflect a decrease in cases of contagion in recent days. In fact, the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz, assured that Colombia “has a peak, which according to studies by the National Institute of Health (INS), It is already declining in terms of cases, but surely only until the third week of March will we be reaching the minimum level.”

In the country, to date, 32,902,670 tests have been processed. Thus, Colombia reaches 6,039,163 confirmed cases of coronavirus since the pandemic began, in March 2020.
On the other hand, the report accounts for 136 more deaths from the virus. With this update, the total number of deaths in Colombia amounts to 137,869.
In the last 24 hours, in addition, 4,106 recovered patients were reported. Thus, there are already 5,857,040 patients who have overcome covid-19 in the country to date.

In total, there are 23,125 cases that remain active in Colombia.
Regarding the progress of the National Vaccination Plan, the health authority reported that, with a cutoff at 11:59 pm on February 16, 75,533,930 doses of the vaccine against covid-19 have been applied in the country. Of that figure, 34,995,289 correspond to the first dose; 26,946,872, to second dose; 7,547,291, to booster doses, and 6,044,478 are from the single-dose vaccine.
