In the early hours of this Tuesday, the first winter tragedy of the year was reported in Colombia: a heavy downpour in Pereira which caused a glide which, at the same time, caused the river overflow and buried several houses in the La Esneda neighborhood.
At the moment, the authorities confirmed 14 people deceasedamong which there are 2 minors, and there are at least 29 injured.
Currently, the emergency is attended by the firefighters of Dosquebradas and Pereira, who -with the help of dozens of neighbors and neighborhood residents– they are still looking for the people who would have been buried under the rubble.
For this reason, some organizations such as Deportivo Pereira have expressed their solidarity with the winter emergency.

More initiatives to collaborate
There are multiple entities that are organizing collections. For example, the Departmental Assembly of Risaralda is receiving groceries at the reception.
That is the same case of the local government of twoquebradaswho asked those who want to collaborate, to approach the Coliseum of the municipality to deliver aid.
The Mayor of Pereirathe National Association of Industrialists (Andi) and several organizations are carrying out collections of non-perishable food, toiletries, clothing in good condition, diapers, wipes, blankets, mattresses and items for pets.
The collection points located in Pereira are the city’s Chamber of Commerce, Expofuturo, the SMP airport parking lot, Carrera 9 Number 36-46 -Coffee Growers Committee-, the Liceo Pino Verde -in the village of El Tigre- and the victoria mall.
In Dosquebradas, donations will be collected at the Unico shopping center and Calle 9 Number 10-160 -Combined Mitaca.
