The Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga, entity that is in charge of monitoring the air of the four municipalities that make up this jurisdiction in Santander, explained the possible impact that the arrival of dust from the Sahara.

“Air currents coming from the Sahara desert, which contain concentrations of dust, have minimally affected air quality in the city”, they indicated from the entity.
This fact has generated daily monitoring with the four stations that are strategically located in the municipalities of the area.
“It is confirmed that in Bucaramanga and its metropolitan area there is no significant impact on possible entry of dust from the Sahara”they said.

Despite this, they do not rule out that the air quality could rise to ‘orange’ levels that set off alarms in populations such as pregnant women, children and older adults.
