Maldonado was released two years ago after his terms expired. However, he is still linked to the process for the alleged crimes of femicide and violent sexual intercourse.
It should be remembered that the death of Brenda Pajaro, a housewife, was a case that shocked Barranquilla. The woman was found dead in a hilly place in the neighborhood Miramarwith signs of violence and mutilated with a sharp weapon.
The prosecution showed that Brenda’s body presented the detachment of one of the fingers of the hand, apparently with the intention of removing a ring.

This detail was the common thread that led the police investigators to dust off the crimes of eight peoplesix men and two women, between 2001 and 2012 in Barranquilla, who also had one of their phalanges severed, in what was apparently part of a satanic ritual practiced by the executioner of these people.
Maldonado had audience last week, which had been awaited for 14 months by the Pajaro family, but the hearing was suspended due to an error in the court that apparently did not send the summons in time for the oral trial to resume.

“He is free due to expiration of terms, when the signs are very serious,” said the Attorney Edwin Sandovaldefender of the family of Brenda Pajaro.
Sandoval assures that he has a new main witness who links Maldonado to the crime. “This procedure has been delayed,” he stressed.
