The hearing to charge Andrés Escobar, who was caught on video shooting at protesters during the national strike was postponed again for unknown reasons.

Elmer Montaña, the lawyer who filed the criminal complaint, recalled that the one scheduled for January 24 had also been postponed.

Montaña stated that the only thing they have information about is that the defense again requested to postpone the hearing without giving details about the reason.

“The prosecutor will announce the causes later, we warn that if the Prosecutor’s Office does not request the security measure, the victims’ lawyers will make that request to the guarantee control judge,” noted the complainant lawyer.

As in the case of the three policemen who were charged in December for the death of several young people during the protests, Montaña hopes that for the next summons both the lawyers will attend, failing that, from the public defender’s office.
