The Ministry of Health of Cali started a race against the clock so that the city reaches 70 percent of vaccination with second doses against covid-19 and thus the obligation to use the mask in open spaces can be lifted.

Miyerlandi Torres, Secretary of Health of Cali, affirmed that in the next few days they hope to reach that 70 percent and for this, during this weekend, they will seek to apply 40,000 vaccines.
Until last Wednesday, according to data from the Ministry of Health, 64.3 percent of Caleños had the complete immunization schedule. Torres said that the goal is to reach the homes of people who are reluctant to the vaccine. It was even decided to leave only five vaccination megacenters and prioritize immunization efforts in the territories.
In contrast, in 16 municipalities of the Valley it will be possible to stop using the mask in a mandatory way outdoors. The most judicious municipalities are Calima-El Darién,
Yotoco, Restrepo, La Victoria and Versalles.
