A shootout ended in a confrontation between alleged members of illegal armed groups and the Police, in an incident that occurred in the Santo Domingo neighborhood, in the Northeast of Medellín.
The exchange of fire occurred on Tuesday afternoon. and generated anxiety among the inhabitants of this vulnerable sector of the capital of Antioquia.

In several videos published by the same community, you can hear how the shots sounded in the sector for several minutes.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Richard Castro, Commander of Police District Number 1, a quadrant arrived at the scene as soon as the report arrived. However, the procedure to control the situation required the presence of a group of special operations, Criminal Police and Intelligence, the city’s Secretary of Security and members of the army.
“The quadrant, upon arriving at the scene, captured two people who had in their possession a shotgun-type firearm and 9-millimeter caliber ammunition,” Castro explained.

“We want to express tranquility to the entire community, No one was injured,” he added.
In the hours of Tuesday night there was already normality in the daily activities of the neighborhood.
Meanwhile, the police announced that progress is being made in the investigation that will determine the reasons for this crossfire.
