A new attack against the Public Force occurred this Saturday in the Cúcuta metropolitan area. The security structure that was transporting the police commander was attacked with explosives and firearms.
The incident occurred on the road that connects Cúcuta with the village of La Ye de Astilleros, in the municipality of El Zulia (Norte de Santander).
According to the preliminary reports, the caravan of vehicles in which the Brigadier General was traveling, Oscar Antonio Morenowas harassed by armed men.

As it was known, armed men installed an explosive charge near the road, and activated it when they noticed the visit of the commander of the Metropolitan Police of Cúcuta (Mecuc). A uniformed man was injured and a motorcycle that was escorting the caravan was affected.
The officer was on his way to the police station in the village of La Ye de Astilleros, which was attacked with explosives by armed men on Friday, February 4. The attack left two uniformed men injured and caused serious damage to the infrastructure and vehicles located in the area.
This is the third attack against the National Police in this town, located on the road that connects Cúcuta with the Caribbean Coast, in less than two months. The first violent act was recorded last Friday, December 17, 2021, when two men on a motorcycle threw explosives at the uniformed men.
