During the event that welcomed the 7,000 scholarship holders of the ‘Everyone to study’ program, at the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium, the directors of the universities participating in the educational project showed enthusiasm and commitment to offer the opportunity to young people benefited.

During the event, the directors gave an affectionate welcome to the scholarship holders to their different educational campuses with a few words of motivation, with the intention of fitting the young people with the development and progress of the Valle del Cauca capital.
The directors of the Universidad del Valle, Icesi, the National Sports School and the National Technical Institute of Commerce (Intenalco) expressed words of welcome.
The mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina, and the secretary of Education of the district, José Darwin Lenis, highlighted this initiative that has 104,000 million pesos of investment.
Esteban Piedrahita, rector of the Icesi University
“We are extremely excited to be part of this initiative. We receive them with the greatest affection. We will always be aware that they enjoy and take advantage of this opportunity that we are offering them together with the Cali mayor’s office,” said Piedrahita.
The manager mentioned that the Icesi is going to welcome 100 students from low-income homes in 20 different careers.
He also indicated that for young people the experience will provide the opportunity to socialize, prepare, play sports or arts in the different programs, and even to graduate with B2 level English at the university.

“We are very grateful to the mayor of Santiago de Cali headed by Jorge Iván Ospina and his municipal education secretary.”
The director stressed that with the initiative 145 places will be given to students in sports technology. What would be a window to facilitate young people who have difficulty affording a professional career.
In addition, he said that they were even given tablets, mobility and economic aid, as well as all semesters of study of the scholarship recipients were guaranteed.
“They are highly privileged by virtue of the fact that out of every 10 high school graduates, only 3 enter university. Our commitment as an institution is total and we will even assume the cost of the last semester of their education in our institution”, said Arroyo.

“Univalle is going to incorporate a thousand students who are going to be admitted and who are going to be leveled all this year so that they enter in 2023 as full students.”
In addition, he assured that they will help prepare the 1,000 high school students for the ‘Saber 11’ tests.
The university in total will receive 3,000 young people, who will have the use of all the educational equipment, taking into account the important bet of the inclusion of young people who do not have opportunities for higher education.

“It seems to me that it is a supremely important and valuable program because it gives opportunity to young people who have not managed to reach higher education for one reason or another.”
During his speech, Grizales commented that he was recently at a meeting at the Ministry of Education, where he showed off this program, which is the only one in Colombia to date, and which is expected to serve as an example for other cities in the country to implement. .
Thus, the administration of doctor Jorge Iván Ospina committed to the professional training of 10,000 students, which is available, in a program that had an investment of 104 billion pesos.
