The architecture of the school is a heritage of the city and for this reason, different sectors, not only from the Administration, but also from the Colombian Society of Architects, Valle del Cauca section, have been making calls for its preservation.
For the Secretary of Municipal Culture, the new building ended up ‘drowing’ the cloister, the heritage asset.
According to Soler, on May 5, 2015, construction was provisionally suspended.

The official assured that on November 16, 2018 the demolition order was given without it having been complied with to date.
Given the situation, the judicial processes were not long in coming.
The 11th Administrative Circuit Court ordered the suspension and the Contentious Administrative Court reiterated the call.
Soler said that the license has already expired and requires that those in charge of the work process a new application before Heritage, in the district’s Secretary of Culture.
Soler said that if the dismantling of the structure that is without a license is not complied with, the municipality would face a lawsuit of more than 60,000 million pesos for not having executed the resolution for the dismantling ordered since November 16, 2018.
