The priest has a valid arrest warrant.

“With the support of the Ombudsman, the case has already been placed in the hands of a victims’ lawyer. We are promoting the psychosocial support of the EPS to the minor and her family, ”Ricardo Madera, Ombudsman for the department of Córdoba, told EL TIEMPO.
The parents of the victim denounced the aberrant case, after finding out that her little girl, who was a volunteer in the services of the Church La Inmaculadawould have been abused by the religious on several occasions.
“The Diocese of Montería reiterates its policy of good treatment with all people and its zero tolerance against all kinds of abuse in any ecclesial environment,” said the communication signed by the priest Uriel Pipper Algarín, communications delegate of the Diocese of Montería.

What appeared to be the first menstrual cramps in the 13-year-old adolescent led the parents to a medical evaluation of the girl, in which it was shown that she had had an abortion. What followed was a painful confession by the girl about the aberrant practices to which Father Carlos José Carvajal Galvis subjected her.
“A preliminary investigation will begin after the issuance of an episcopal decree and precautionary measures were issued to remove the priest accused of sexual abuse from the exercise of the Priestly Ministry,” the Diocese of Montería said in a press release.

Until now, the aforementioned father has not been located and his whereabouts are unknown.
The minor’s family, with the support of the Ombudsman’s Office, filed complaints with the Prosecutor’s Office.
“We have asked the authorities as quickly as possible to allow the capture of this man to bring him before the judicial authorities,” said Madera.
By then, the priest Carvajal Galvis had already resigned from his duties as a religion teacher at a school in San Bernardo del Viento.
