The Metropolitan Police of Barranquilla reported this Sunday the capture of a man accused of being the alleged person in charge of the robbery of a citizen.

According to information from the authorities, the incident occurred on Calle 30 with Carrera 40, in the center of the city, when units of the Police Force Available Group were carrying out prevention and control tasks.
At that time, they were alerted to the theft suffered by a user of the collective public transport service.

The uniformed officers arrested the suspect, who was found to have a cell phone, apparently stolen. Upon fully identifying him, the police officers realized that the man, identified as Luis Javier Mejia LambranoHe was under house arrest.

“This man records 28 judicial entries: 12 for theft, five for illegal possession of firearms, six for drug trafficking and five more for personal injuries,” said a spokesman for the institution.
