The National Police in Quibdó captured a 21-year-old man accused of stealing three cell phones and a pair of shoes in a commercial establishment located in Carrera 3 of this Chocó municipality.

The curious thing about the case is that, according to the authorities, “the subject used a green banana wrapped in a black bag to intimidate their victims and strip them of their belongings”.

The police units that patrolled the area were alerted by the citizens and after undertaking the search for the alleged thief, he was captured in Carrera 5 with streets 25 and 26.

Items were seized from the man.

After the capture, the uniformed men seized the young man, who was found in his possession the three devices, the tennis shoes and the banana with which he apparently committed the robberies.

“Cell phones were returned to their owners.who thanked the institution for the effective reaction,” the police said.

The National Police called on citizens to continue denouncing and providing information to counter this and other crimes.
