Authorities confirmed that five people are missing after the landslide that occurred this Wednesday afternoon in the downtown area of Manizales.
Among the people registered as missing are an older adult, a minor, seven years old, members of the same family. And two other older women.
On the site was installed a Unified Command Post from where it was reported that nine people have been rescued and transferred to care centers.
“We do not know the reasons for the landslide, we are investigating to determine what could have happened,” said Mayor (e) Diana Mejía Grand.

“The Official Fire Department of Manizales is heading to this point between the neighborhoods La Castellana and Centenario. The relief agencies are dealing with this situation, of which we will continue to provide reports as more details become known, “said the municipality’s Risk Management Unit.
