The bidding process for the award of the construction contract for three viaducts in the Ciénaga – Barranquilla corridor continues to progress satisfactorily, according to the National Institute of Roads (Invias).

A total of 16 expert engineering companies, both national and foreign, submitted bids for the viaducts to be built on kilometers 19, 28 and 59 of the highway Cienaga – Barranquilla and they are part of a phased plan of interventions in the corridor.
Last year the entity completed the first phase of the schedule, with which it carried out protection works on the side of the road between the kilometer 18 and 20, to ensure that this section would no longer be susceptible to coastal erosion.
“Six consortiums presented their economic proposals during the bidding process. These consortiums are made up of 16 companies that feel guarantees of transparency in the processes carried out by the transport sector”, he stated. the Minister of Transport, Ángela María Orozco Gómez.

This project has guaranteed resources of $700 billion with which three viaducts totaling 10 kilometers in length will be built,
The second phase, currently underway, consists of construction works for a multilayer rockfill and the reinforcement of critical points in the corridor, after an investment of close to 10 billion pesos. The third and last phase is the construction of the three viaducts.
