A tense situation arises in Curumaní (center of Cesar) after two strong explosions registered in this municipality.
The first detonation occurred at 9:50 p.m. last Wednesday against an infrastructure of Ecopetrol, located in Sabana Grande, corregimiento of this town.

The second attack was recorded in an electrical tower of the company ISA, located in this same sector.
Municipality has more foot of force
explosions rattled the doors and windows. At this time, the trade is closed. This looks like a ghost town, people are afraid because they have already experienced the scourges of this violence
“They knocked down a wall of a construction that is part of an Ecopetrol pumping station. As for the Isa tower, the impact was slight, it was bent and this did not limit the electricity service in the region”, explained Henry Chacón, mayor of Curumaní.
Preliminary information indicates that the attack was perpetrated by the Eln guerrilla group, which has a presence in this area.

The municipality now has more foot force. Since last night, members of the National Police and Army, specialized in anti-explosives, have carried out operations in the area to counter new attacks.
“The explosions shook the doors and windows. At this time, the trade is closed. This looks like a ghost town, people are afraid because they have already experienced the scourges of this violence,” said the official.
Faced with this scenario, the municipal administration decreed a night curfew, which restricts the circulation of motorcycles from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
The measure is in force from the previous Wednesday and will be maintained until next Saturday.
“The attention to the public of the mayor’s office is maintained from virtuality. This is to avoid any risk that may arise against any official,” stressed Chacón.
