The representative to the Chamber for Bogotá and member of the Green Alliance, Maurice Bullhe pointed out through his Twitter account to Hugo Ospinapresident of the Association of Owners and Drivers of Taxi, to take power and “give orders traffic agents” to carry out controls and punish drivers who provide transport services through digital platforms.
Additionally, Toro shared in his tweet a video filmed at the Palonegro Airport where it is seen how Ospina urges traffic agents to stop a white special transport van that is near the place where the recording was made.
“Tell me since the transit agency began what actions it has taken on informal transport, tell me what actions it has taken against legal transport, which also insists on not respecting the legal and judicial system, because this is for here and for We don’t come because we belong to the union, we want equal conditions and respect for the rules. proof with that car that is going to load here with that special service and we are going to record”, says Ospina in the recording.
Subsequently, the traffic agents are seen stopping the vehicle that had just started up and requesting the documents from the driver while Ospina asks those who accompany him to film the entire procedure and demands that the special transport van be immobilized if the passenger is not there. related to the status of the travel contract.

Senate candidate @hugoospina55 it turned out worse than Councilman Osorio. He now believes he has the authority to give orders to traffic agents (and that has not reached Congress)
And apparently he was looking at a spark plug! No more chase! The rental agreement is LEGAL! pic.twitter.com/L3HZ04K6Vq

Faced with this accusation, President of the Association of Owners and Drivers of Taxi responded to representative Toro also from his Twitter account stating: “But what is this desire to publish my life everywhere, representative? And for your knowledge (because I see that you have no idea ) the figure under which the man was working is a contract of legal transport, not those laws that you invented”.
However, the discussion between the two did not end there. Toro responded to this comment and also accused him of having the intention of “taking jobs away from more than 300,000 honest Colombians.”
“What is your desire to take jobs away from more than 300,000 honest Colombians who have no other source of work? And I say that you were left seeing a spark because the truck you wanted to damage had all the papers in order. Respect drivers and passengers!” Toro wrote.

This last tweet also answered Ospina, who assured: “I have no desire to take away the work of 300,000, I have the desire to dignify the work of those who work legally.”
Representative, the controls at the entrance and exit of the airports are normal. If you have everything in order, what is the problem?
I have no desire to take away the work of 300 thousand, I have a desire to dignify the work of those who work legally. https://t.co/EhPGQ8GdGy

Representative Toro, who has led several projects to regulate the use of transportation platforms, has assured on different occasions that the figure of rental, although it is legal, it is not the most suitable, for which he stated that the debate on the matter must continue. He also said that the police persecution against platform drivers must end.
For his part, Hugo Ospina, who is today candidate to the Senate for the Partido de La U, is a standard-bearer for the taxi drivers’ union in its fight against alternative transport platforms.
