Colonel Jhon Sepúlveda, Deputy Commander Metropolitan Police of Barranquillaasked the merchants who are thinking of closing their businesses as a result of the extortions of which they have been victims, not to do so, assuring that there is a whole plan and accompaniment to guarantee their safety.

The officer went out to respond to the warning made by unionized merchants in Undecowho denounced that as a result of the extortions of which they are victims, they are willing to close their businesses as of February 24.

Colonel Sepúlveda assured that two officers were assigned to follow up on extortion cases and that they have permanent communication with the merchants.

“We have a firm commitment to trade,” said the officer, to report that there are already four men behind bars who demanded pressure on merchants through extortion, attacks and harassment“crimes are being charged to them, possibly from prisons.”

Colonel Sepúlveda reiterated the call to merchants not to close their premises, “police will be there to continue supporting them”, he pointed out, thanking them for the timely information they are providing.
