The Secretariat for Disaster Risk Management of Valle del Cauca reported that monitoring is being carried out and actions are being carried out in the municipalities Palmira, Caicedonia, El Cerrito, Buga, Ginebra and Dagua, where there are effects due to the rains, especially in rural areas.

“In Geneva the issue has been very complicated, the yellow machinery is already working, however, mass movements are constant and have been reiterated in road sectors where arrangements had already been made by the department and the municipality,” said Jesús Antonio Copete, Secretary of Disaster Risk Management of the Valley.

For this Monday, a team from the Disaster Risk Management Secretariat announced to move to Buga, in the center of Valle del Cauca, where a geological process is taking place.

It was also reported that a mass movement was recorded on the road that connects the urban area of ​​Buga with the village of La Magdalena, which was withdrawn.

A diagnosis of the experts is expected to define the actions, in order to address this situation.

Meanwhile, In some neighborhoods in the east, center and south of Cali, there were some floods due to clogging of the sewage system.

The Secretary of Disaster Risk Management of Cali, Rodrigo Zamorano, asked citizens not to clog the sinks with garbage or throwing old mattresses. Doing so, said the official, can cause a tragedy.
