Sofía Vergara shared an emotional message in which she recounted her experience when she faced thyroid cancer at the beginning of her acting career.

Through a photograph published on her networks, the actress of “Modern Family” remembered the scar left by the disease and took the opportunity to send an important message to her followers.

“At 28 years old, “Cancer” was not a word I expected to hear. It was just a routine checkup. But the doctors found a lump in my throat and that word became part of my story. I spent countless hours in radiation treatments and eventually surgery. Today, I can call myself a cancer survivor,” the reality TV star commented.

Sofía Vergara also explained that the photograph was taken after the diagnosis and treatment, therefore she feels grateful to life for overcoming the dreaded disease.

“This was my first acting class after diagnosis and treatment, and seeing the scar on my throat reminds me how blessed I felt that day, and every day since,” she argued.

Donovan is 22 years old, originally from Zapopa, state of Jalisco, Mexico, but currently lives in León, Guanajuato, and it is there where he practices with his coach Gregorio Núñez.
