En el Valle del Cauca intensifican acciones contra el zancudo transmisor del dengue

La Unidad Ejecutora de Saneamiento del Valle del Cauca, UESVALLE, refuerza las acciones frente a la propagación del zancudo transmisor del dengue con la inspección y control de criaderos en más de 5.000 viviendas del departamento en 40 municipios.

“Ante la notificación permanente de casos de dengue, aunado a la temporada de lluvias que facilita la formación de criaderos del zancudo Aedes aegypti en aguas estancadas, intensificamos la vigilancia y el control en los hogares vallecaucanos”, explicó Diego Victoria Mejía, director general de la UESVALLE. 

Así mismo, se ha llevado a cabo en 25 municipios la inspección y tratamiento en 35 mil sumideros de aguas lluvia en vía pública y el control de focos de criaderos del zancudo en instituciones educativas.

 

Victoria Mejía señaló que además de la inspección se ofrece educación sanitaria en la identificación y prevención de los criaderos del zancudo. “La prevención empieza en casa, por eso el llamado a la comunidad es evitar la proliferación de los criaderos del zancudo, mediante la eliminación de las aguas estancadas y depósitos como tarros, llantas y botellas; así como cambiar el agua de floreros, lavar y cepillar semanalmente las paredes los tanques de lavadero”, agregó.

El dengue en Cali sigue generando brotes, en parte porque la gente sigue dejando criaderos del Aedes. Mientras, la ciudadanía reclama también diagnosticos adecuados cuando acuden a los centros médicos públicos o privados.

Los casos de dengue reportados en una de las sedes de la Institución Educativa La Buitrera, en Cali, disparó la alerta entre las autoridades de salud, porque también se reportó que un menor de 8 años de edad murió tras complicaciones que le produjo este virus.

En el corregimiento de La Butritera hay un brote confirmado, de los 14 casos confirmados estos días, varios son alumnos de la institución educativa oficial.

 

Desde el fin de semana tuvieron que intervenir en la escuela, afectada por el brote.

Dengue: ¡Por favor! Elimine los criaderos de su casa

En Cali actualmente hay unos 514 casos (disminución del 61% en comparación con 2021), varios de esos en situación grave porque ya registran la etapa hemorrágica. El deceso del menor se produjo en enero, pero estudiaba en esa institución donde han seguido reportándose casos.

De allí, la alerta y por eso llegó la Alcaldía con una jornada de control.

Cali sigue siendo una ciudad endémica.

Medidas de control y autocuidado

La fumigación no es suficiente, especialmente en días de lluvias porque «el agua barre con el insecticida y no tiene ninguna acción entonces».

Se han fumigado lotes, viviendas e instituciones, pero los criaderos de mosquitos se siguen encontrando.

Es necesario el autocuidado, la limpieza de criaderos.

Toda la comunidad debe aportar para enfrentar estos brotes.

El Aedes Aegytptis no solo transmite dengue, también Zika y Chikungunya.

El criadero de los zancudos es en aguas limpias, en su mayoría en viviendas, escuelas y otros espacios donde se guardan baldes o tanques con agua.

• No tener humedad en las casas.
• Llenar las llantas con tierra.
• Cambiar cada día el agua de los floreros.
• Cambiar todos los días el agua de las mascotas.

Al ser agua limpia, el agua de perros y gatos debe ser cambiada a diario.

• Lavar con cloro y jabón constantemente los lavaderos y sus tanques.
• Si hay botellas, voltearlas y que no les entre agua.
• Limpiar los sifones y rejillas de alcantarillas con cloro, preferiblemente.

«Un mosquito puede poner cientos de huevos (larvas) en aguas acumuladas», advirtió la secretaria de Salud distrital, Miyerlandi Torres.

Recordó que la limpieza en los hogares contribuirá a disminuir los casos de dengue, «en nuestras poblaciones ha sido difícil».

Se están realizando controles, pero la ciudadania debe ayudar quitando criaderos.

La personas que es picada y tiene el virus, «puede tener cuatro variedades del virus, puede llegar a presentar la etapa más grave que es la hemorragia de sangre y morir».

Dado que algunos síntomas pueden confundirse con otros virus gripales, el mismo Covid, es necesario que la ciudadanía pueda acudir a centros médicos y que en estos, también se hagan diagnósticos correctos. 

Por ello tenga en cuenta que si presenta estos síntomas, debe acudir a su centro médico más cercano:

• Fiebre persistente
• Dolores: abdominales, en la boca estómago
• Si hay sangrado, «es de alarma»
• Dolor en el cuerpo

Atlántico: campaign against the dengue mosquito - Barranquilla - Colombia

For the purpose of eradicating the aedes aegypti mosquito that transmits dengue, the Secretary of Health of the Atlantic carries out prevention campaigns in the Mundo Feliz neighborhood, in the municipality of Galapa.

According to the authorities, an epidemiological situation with the virus has been occurring in this sector, so a day was held with the aim of educating the community on how to maintain clean environments in homes.

The departmental Secretary of Health, Alma Solano, indicated that they are in the active patient search with symptoms to establish prompt care and mitigate disease outbreaks.

The health guardians swept more than 500 houses, where they explained how to eradicate the mosquito that transmits dengue, how to identify and differentiate the signs and symptoms of the disease.

In addition, the group of officials in charge of vector-borne diseases has inspected 1,050 homes to identify deposits and possible mosquito breeding sites, according to official figures.

To eliminate the problem, it is essential that the community always check and frequently wash those sites or deposits to store liquids that can become possible breeding sites for the dengue mosquito, as recommended by this Secretariat.

These actions and prevention of dengue have been carried out in the 22 municipalities of the department and in their districts to guide the community towards the eradication of mosquito breeding sites.

Recommendations of the authorities

1. Eliminate breeding sites for the dengue-transmitting mosquito.
2. Discard unusable items.
3. Periodically change the water in vases and constantly clean the tanks and pools where clean water is stored.
4. Keep areas of the house dry where clean water can be stored or retained.
5. Wash the tanks and pools with enough hypochlorite and, with the help of a brush, remove the eggs that the mosquito has deposited.
