The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced this Tuesday, February 8, the nominees for the 2022 Oscars. The categories were revealed by actors Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan.

This year the award ceremony will take place on March 27 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, United States. The film ‘The Power of the Dog’, by filmmaker Jane Campion, leads the list with 12 nominations. Followed by ‘Dune’ with 10. ‘Belfast’ and ‘West Side Story’ have seven each.

The animated film ‘Encanto’ achieved the important nomination for ‘Best Animated Feature Film’, in addition to competing for ‘Best Original Song’ and ‘Best Original Soundtrack’.
