The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, congratulated Dominican David Ortiz on Wednesday for his inclusion in the MLB Baseball Hall of Fame, and described him on his social networks as a “horse.”

“Congratulations to David Ortiz, “Big Papi”, who was chosen to be part of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. The photo is from the All-Star Game in San Diego in 2016. That year he retired hitting 315 percentage ; a real horse,” the president wrote on his Twitter account.

Dominican David Ortiz saw his historic journey in Major League Baseball rewarded on Tuesday, by being elected on his first opportunity to be part of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York (USA).

Ortiz achieved 77.9% of the votes, according to the results released by the MLB, in the election of the United States Baseball Writers Association.

On his way back to the Major Leagues, Marcell Ozuna has just left an indelible mark of his talent and power in the Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic (Lidom), in which he charged the Gigantes del Cibao to victory on Saturday the title of champions.

Ozuna also won the Most Valuable Player award in the final of the tournament in the Dominican Republic, a country that will host the Caribbean Baseball Series between January 28 and February 3.
