A human source that provided key information to the authorities made it possible to locate and control some packages with explosives that were abandoned by unknown persons on La Toma avenue, in the vicinity of the University Hospital of Neiva, Huila.

With this timely information, Police and Army personnel arrived at the scene with special equipment to control at least 8 packages or cylinders containing explosives combined with black powder.

Faiver Hoyos Hernández, Secretary of the Government of Neiva, stated that “an informant provided information to the CTI of the Prosecutor’s Office, and from there an operation was put together that culminated in the deactivation.”

“We send a message of calm and confidence to the city, since the authorities work in an articulated manner,” said the official.

Colonel Diego Fernando Vásquez, commander of the Police in Neiva, pointed out that “after closing the affected area we managed to control the situation”.

In this sense, he made a call to the Superintendency of Health and the Ministry of Health “to protect all our public hospital networkto which it owes more than 170,000 million pesos, given the risk of liquidation of this EPS”.

The Supersalud took possession of Emssanar for two months in a first phase and appointed Juan Manuel Quiñones Pinzón as special agent. At the time, he ordered the separation of the manager and the board of directors of the entity.
