600 palmas de cera llegaron a las montañas de Tenerife y el resguardo Triunfo Cristal Paez con la campaña ‘Unidos por el árbol nacional’

Santiago de Cali, septiembre 17 de 2021. En el marco de la campaña ‘Unidos por el árbol Nacional’, la Gobernación del Valle del Cauca, la Corporación Autónoma Regional del Valle del Cauca y la Fundación Paraíso Las Palmas llegaron con 600 palmas de cera al corregimiento de Tenerife, en El Cerrito, y el resguardo indígena Triunfo Cristal Páez, en zona rural de Florida.

“En esta sembratón que se hizo a nivel nacional se sumaron 11 departamentos y el Valle del Cauca aportó 600 palmas, lo que nos permite seguir promoviendo y garantizando la conservación de este árbol nacional”, dijo la secretaria de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible del departamento, Nasly Fernanda Vidales González.

Anhorak Sossa, representante del Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible, quien participó de la jornada, destacó la sembratón y dijo que “es muy importante que las autoridades ambientales y la Gobernación del Valle estén en estos procesos educativos porque la comunidad es importante en el desarrollo en la protección de los ecosistemas evitando el tráfico ilegal de flora y, además, este proceso hace parte de gobernanza ambiental”.

Patricia Muñoz, directora Territorial Sur Oriente de la CVC, y Edwin Muñoz, representante de la Fundación Paraíso Las Palmas, coincidieron en afirmar que la jornada nacional logró unir departamentos, comunidades indígenas e instituciones buscando la protección y conservación del árbol nacional.

Por último, Katerin Vanessa Chacón, de la Institución Educativa ‘Jorge Isaac’, en el corregimiento de Tenerife, quien participó de la siembra, dijo que “me siento muy feliz, porque la sembratón es una excelente manera de contribuir en el ecosistema protegiendo la palma de cera”.
