And thanks to the fact that she accompanied her, I met a girl that I liked. To try to win her over, I convinced my parents to put me in skating classes, “she said in an interview with AFP.

The young man began his training on the ice rinks of a shopping center, without imagining that he would be able to represent an entire country in the Olympic Games.

“From training on the ice rink in a shopping center to the Olympics. In a country with hardly any Olympic-size ice rinks and overcoming numerous obstacles, Donovan Carrillo will be the first figure skater from Mexico in 30 years”, published the JJ.OO. on Twitter last January.

Regarding training in a mall, Donovan recounted that: “There are certain kinds of distractions and situations there, like skating to music all the time or with people who still don’t know how to skate very well and who only do it recreationally.”

However, it ensures that “This makes the training a bit more challenging.”
