Barranquilla was not satisfied with the Gran Malecón to face the Magdalena river. Now, his plan continues with ‘Vive Río’, a real estate project that will be built at the foot of this public space, the most visited in the country.

It is the first housing complex to be built in this sector of the capital of the Atlantic, where until now there is only a pedestrian and vehicular corridor parallel to the tributary, which is provided for locals and visitors to taste national and international food, entertain, exercise or participate in cultural events.

Pedro Otero, manager of the Inciti company, which led the structuring and sales of the project, explained that they were looking for an initiative that would bring together the idea of enjoy and live in front of the Magdalena river and the Gran Malecón.
“It is an opportunity that we have never had and that is given to the people of Barranquilla. There is no possibility of living inside a residential building that offers all the benefits that the Malecón has. If people travel every day to jog in this public space, the advantage of Vive Río is that you will be able to go down the elevator and reach it,” said Otero.
The details of the Vive Rio project

The other typology is 67 square meters, with two bedrooms that, in addition to working for the above types of users, could also apply to a family.
While typology type 1, premium, as it has been called, is an apartment that can have three bedrooms, located in the front part of the tower, ensuring a panoramic view of the river, the sea and Salamanca Island. Its dimension is 99.5 and 133 square meters
Investments and job creation
This phenomenon of living in front of the Malecón has already been experienced in other parts of the world, as in the case of Puerto Madero
According to official figures, the initial investment is 300,000 million pesos, about. As for times, they project the first stage (sales) to last one year, and later a three-year construction. One hundred percent of the project would be ready within five years.
In this sense, those responsible for Vive Río assured that 1,200 jobs could be generated, between direct and indirect, with exclusively local human resources.

The availability of apartments in front of the Malecón
After the launch of Vive Río, which took place this Wednesday, February 23, they recorded 85 percent of sales in the first stage of the housing units, and in the second stage approximately 20 percent is accounted for, pending the closing of February.
