Medellin continues to consolidate as the capital of big events. And to confirm this statement, the Municipal Mayor’s Office announced the launch of the city events agenda, which for this year already has more than 200 activities and meetings, between public and private.
The possibility of benefiting more than 20,000 artists and bringing together a varied public around these extraordinary city competitions is due to Decree 0907 of 2021, issued by the Mayor’s Office and known as a single window for events.
Indeed, said Decree, which modernizes and simplifies the procedures for producers of performing arts and concerts, converted Medellín in the city of Colombia where it is easier to hold events.
“Thank the merchants, businessmen, and the cultural sector for trusting us, because we also trust you, and all this is done thanks to a purpose and that is to change that internal bureaucracy that existed to hold events. We went from 26 procedures to 11 for the well-being of businessmen and citizens”, expressed the Secretary of Government and Mayor (e) of Medellín, Esteban Restrepo, in the presentation of the events agenda.
The agenda starts this month with the commemoration of the Month of the Theater, continues with the International Dance Day, on April 29, and extends to the Book Events. The first will be the Popular Book Days Fair, on May 21 and 22. In July, the 14th edition of the Parada Juvenil de la Lectura will be held, on the 16th and 17th; and the Book Festival, which will be held for 10 days, from September 9 to 18.
