The indicators of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection reveal that Barranquilla is one of the territorial entities in the country with the highest number of positive cases of covid-19 per million inhabitants.
Since the beginning of the pandemic (March 2020) until today, the capital of the Atlantic also registers the highest number of deaths from covid-19 per million inhabitants. The rate is 4,700 deaths.
In this way it surpasses Santander (3,800), Bogotá (3,500), Norte Santander (3,500) and Antioquia (2,785).

On the other hand, Barranquilla leads in Colombia the vaccination process against covid and so far the coverage of inhabitants with complete schemes is 83%.
“Recommendations for vaccination with complete schemes and booster doses in children and risk groups, self-care and individual responsibility are insisted on, and even more so, with patients with underlying diseases,” a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health recently expressed. District Health.

1. The citizen who wants to continue using the mask in public spaces can do so.
2. Anyone who has symptoms of a respiratory disorder (cough, sore throat, shortness of breath) should isolate themselves and permanently wear a mask.
3. Every citizen who is not vaccinated against covid-19 is still obliged to wear a face mask.
4. The use of face masks is still mandatory in closed spaces (public transport, commercial establishments, among others).

5. Taking into account aspects related to vaccination coverage, in populations of the metropolitan area: Soledad, Puerto Colombia, Malambo and Galapa, mandatory use in public spaces is maintained.
6. According to the Ministry of Health, the permanent use of face masks by older adults is recommended.
