$ 5,600 million for parties at the Barranquilla Carnival 2022 - Barranquilla - Colombia

The District announced the investment of 5,900 million pesos in the agenda of the Carnival of Barranquilla 2022, through the Stimulus Portfolio of the party that will be held between March 26 and 29 next.

The Secretary of Culture and Heritage, Maria Teresa Fernandez Iglesias, announced the allocation of these resources during the official opening of the city’s festive agenda and ratified the Mayor’s support for Carnival 2022.

“This investment materializes the District’s commitment to our tradition, to our Carnivaland for its main protagonists: the creators, who during the obligatory break last year demonstrated their valuable capacity for resilience and commitment to keep heritage alive”, indicated the Secretary of Culture.

This is how resources are allocated

The Stimulus Portfolio will deliver $ 2,200 million to 31 organizations and operators that will consolidate an agenda of more than 120 festive and academic events, which will reach 80 neighborhoods of the city and will go from the date until next March 29.

Another $1,100 million will be given to the makers of the party, to guarantee their participation in the different stages, benefiting more than 30,000 artists and makers, who are part of the different expressions such as dancers, costumes, actors, musicians, etc.

In addition to these resources, the portfolio includes a contribution of 2,600 million pesos for the safeguard lines of the Special Plan for the Safeguarding of the Carnival (PES)which will allow the execution of events such as Guacherna, the Festival Live the Tradition, Dance the Street and the Festival of Orchestras.

“The important thing is that all organizations have worked together to strengthen our events, thanks to the contribution made by the District,” said the director of the Association of Folk Groups of the department of Atlántico and operator of the Carnival of the 44, Edgar Blanco.
