BOGOTA COLOMBIA). Saturday, February 19, 2022 (RPTV NEWS AGENCY). In less than 4 months, the United States Department of State has warned its citizens to reconsider traveling to Colombia, arguing that various regions of the country may represent a threat to their fellow citizens.

A warning that for Brian and Juliana, two Americans who are on tourism in the South American country, makes no sense.

“I have spent three weeks here in Colombia and we have not encountered any dangerous situations,” says Brian.

In the statement from the US Embassy in Bogotá, they advise “citizens to reconsider traveling to Colombia due to crime and to be more cautious with riots, terrorism and kidnapping.”

Experts assure that the constant warnings of the United States Government to ask its citizens to refrain from traveling to Colombia, represents a strong blow to the already affected Colombian economy.

“The losses are 5.6 billion dollars because different tourists do not enter directly or indirectly, which generates a movement of the gross domestic product,” explains the analyst, Andrés Nieto.
