Quindío: video of the slide that almost dragged a bus - Other Cities - Colombia

The passengers of an intermunicipal bus that was moving along the road between Armenia and Génova, Quindío, experienced moments of panic when they observed a landslide that fell a few meters from the vehicle.

The people who were on board the bus asked the driver not to go any further or to return to the capital of the department, since they feared another landslide would collapse.

The landslide, which would have been generated by the damming of a ravine, caused the material to fall on the road in the sector known as Las Brisas, and completely block the road. There was even loss of a part of the road. However, no injuries or deaths were recorded during this emergency.Through several videos, the moments of anguish that the passengers experienced in this sector were known.

“I allow myself to state from the Las Brisas sector that the passage at this time is restricted, not only due to the torrential rains but also due to the partial loss of the bench, since the conditions force to generate shock plans to avoid any complex situation” , pointed out the mayor of Genoa, Jorge Iván Osorio.

The president asked the people who are mobilizing “to remain calm while we enable the road and give free rein for movement.”

Winter has generated emergencies due to falling trees and affecting the energy service in several municipalities such as Armenia, Montenegro, Calarcá, Quimbaya, La Tebaida and Circasia.
