After its return to attendance and on an atypical date (December), the organization of the Petronio Álvarez Pacific Music Festival works with the challenge of having a 2022 edition in style where elements such as inclusion and the environment are also protagonists.

At the head of the Ministry of Culture of Cali, the directors of the festival held a meeting in which they decided that the folkloric and musical contest will target it by reducing single-use plastic and Styrofoam.

In this way, it was announced by the head of Culture of Cali, Ronald Mayorga, who met with the director of the festival, Ana Copete, and exponents of Colombian Pacific cuisine.
“We dream of an oxygenated and different Petronio with an exercise in creativity and innovation, and that implies thinking that the sample of traditional kitchens has new components and actions. That is why We have made important decisions and it is that Petronio says goodbye to plastic and Styrofoam. This as an exercise of responsibility with the planet and pedagogy towards the entire country,” said the official.

These types of decisions are part of the redesign process of the festival’s gastronomic sample, which aims to provide better comfort for attendees.
Meanwhile, the director of the Petronio Álvarez, Ana Copete, highlighted the results of the festival’s workshops, which have allowed her to evaluate the 2021 edition in detail to create “work routes together with citizens.”
“We will continue to hold these meetings with the other sectors that participate in the festival,” he added.
The Secretariat of Economic Development of Cali will hold workshops with the exhibitors of the enterprises.
