Masks: cities that must continue using them in public spaces - Other Cities - Colombia

The Ministry of Health announced this Wednesday that the municipalities that have reached 70 percent of vaccination with a complete scheme against covid-19 (two doses) will be able to stop using the mask in open spaces.

There are 451 municipalities that meet the 70 percent condition and 672 that do not, and on that list of cities and municipalities that must continue to use the face mask there are some large ones with large populations.

Among those that have not achieved the required vaccination percentage and must continue to use the face mask is Cali, where they are at 67 percent. Given this situation, the Secretary of Health of Cali, Miyerlandi Torres, pointed out that they are working to improve the vaccination process so that they can soon adhere to this decision of the Ministry of Health.

“We are at 83.6 percent coverage of the first doses and 67 percent with the complete scheme. We seek to strengthen extramurality and be in the territories where people who have been reluctant to vaccination are. For this reason, it is necessary to be on the street again,” explained Torres.
